Šenov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of Divine Providence in Šenov was built in 1764 and is often called the “Pearl of Silesia.” It is listed as a protected cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP 37271/8-720 and has been protected since 3 May 1958. The entrance is on the east side; inside are four bas-reliefs of the former owners of the Šenov estate. The Mission Cross (“Kříž Misijní”) by the church dates from 1928. The cross at the crossroads to Datyně (“Kříž na rozcestí k Datyním”) dates from 1864 and is attributed to Franz Blažek.

Culture

The Šenov Museum documents the history of Šenov and its surroundings. A permanent exhibition is housed in the Old School building. The museum’s “Barn” also contains an exhibition of tools, equipment, implements and aids that earlier generations needed and used.

Nature

The Château Park in Šenov covers approximately 3 hectares. Due to its historical and dendrological value, it has been a cultural monument since 1999; the park is home to 53 species of trees and woody plants. Volenský Pond is the largest pond in Šenov. It provides suitable conditions for aquatic and wetland organisms, including birds, gull colonies that regularly nest on the island, amphibians and invertebrates.

Discoveries

The Šenov Educational Trail starts and ends at Radniční náměstí. An information board with a map of the entire route is located there to help visitors find their way.
