Václavovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Pískovna in Václavovice consists of an old sand-mining area with ponds that were formed after the sand was extracted. Its protected feature is the great crested newt (Triturus cristatus). The protected Pískovna is part of the Natura 2000 network; fire-bellied toads occur there. A hiking trail through Václavovice passes this area.

The Ryninka spring on the border between Václavovice and Sedliště is considered a place for walks and relaxation. Kamenec Pond is also considered a place for walks and relaxation; beavers have settled there.

Culture and history

The chapel near house number 11 is the only immovable cultural monument in Václavovice. St. Wenceslas Church stands on Václavovická Street and is a landmark of the village. The local cultural monuments also include a wooden bell tower. Several original wooden houses have been preserved, and four operational windmills are among the notable local sights.

The chapel on Potoční Street is dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk and dates from 1805. It commemorates the march of the Russian army towards Slavkov for the Battle of the Three Emperors in 1805. The chapel of lost heritage, a modern work of art by the Šenov artist Oldřich Harok, also stands along the hiking route through Václavovice.

Things to do

The circular trail “Vpravo, vlevo, po potoce” begins at the primary school and nursery school building in Václavovice. The circular trail is described as an easy hiking route and is 3.8 km long.

Local cycling route 6063 runs from Petřvald via Šenov, Šimška and Sedliště and passes through Václavovice along local and purpose-built paths.
