Vřesina: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Vřesina combines specific leisure activities with marked trails and a locally rooted history. In summer, Skalka Family Park offers up to 55 entertainment attractions. The facilities also include a 350-metre ski slope, a children’s ski park and a covered, artificially cooled ice-skating rink.

Leisure and trails

Cycle route 6199 runs through Vřesina from Dolní Lhota via wooded areas and local roads to the village centre and onwards towards the Mexiko settlement. The Radegast-Silesia cycle route runs through Vřesina together with marked cycle route 6199.

The Pěšina Jeníčky–U Peterka is designated in Vřesina as a circular walking route. Also in Vřesina, Štefanova skála is one of the tourist destinations in the “Bodies of water and watercourses” category.

Culture and history

The Church of St Anthony of Padua in Vřesina was consecrated on 13 June 1998 by Bishop František Václav Lobkowicz. The chapel with a bell tower by the school in Vřesina is classified as an immovable cultural monument.

Smaller memorial sites and traditional customs are also part of the village’s character: Boží muka were unveiled and consecrated on 5 October 2014 at the site of an old tragedy. The “Mařák” tradition of carrying out winter and welcoming spring was observed irregularly in Vřesina from 1905 onwards and continues to this day.

Historical steam operation began on the Svinov–Poruba–Vřesina route on 2 August 1925.

Transport connections

Vřesina is served by tram line 5. In the timetable, the line runs between “Poruba,Vřesinská” and “Budišovice,Zátiší”.
