Čavisov – Landscapes, Trails and Events

Landscape

Forested heights, the Porubka Valley, and several mountains and hills characterize the landscape around Čavisov. Čavisov is located in the forested Vítkovská vrchovina. This forested upland is part of the Nízký Jeseník; at the same time, Čavisov belongs to the Porubka Valley recreation area. The mountains Vinná hora and Přílet are located nearby. The hills Dubské [Kyjovice ve Slezsku] and Podklan [Ostrava - Zbyslavice] are also located in the immediate vicinity. Vinná hora and Přílet are in the surrounding area, while Dubské and Podklan are in the immediate vicinity. Thus, forested landscapes, a valley area, and individual elevations come together in a clearly structured setting.

Trails

Two cycling routes and one marked blue hiking trail pass through the Čavisov area. Cycling route No. 6140 comes from Kyjovice and runs through the built-up part of Čavisov. At the municipal office, it turns off and then continues along road III/46610 towards Mezihoří. Route 6199 runs through the northeastern part of the area. It comes from the direction of Dolní Lhota and continues towards Vřesina. In addition, marked blue hiking trail No. 2273 passes through the Čavisov area. For cycling trips, it is advisable to check current information about route conditions before setting out. When hiking, the blue marking is the key identifying feature of the trail, while the two cycling routes are distinguished by their numbers, directions, and respective routes. Before a cycling trip, current route and traffic information can also be checked.

Sport

The Čavisovská stovka starts and finishes at the TJ Sokol sports field in Čavisov. For this event, the sports field is both the starting point and the finishing point. The event's start and finish are therefore located at the same specifically designated sports field.

Events and Food

Myslivecké odpoledne takes place at Stavy Pond, locally known as “na Hrázce,” on 5 September 2026. The programme includes competitions for children and adults, a prize wheel, air-rifle shooting, and a virtual hunting shooting range. Wild-game specialities and refreshments are available at Stavy Pond throughout the day. The programme items and the food and drink offering are part of the same event at the pond. For events held at a specific time, it is advisable to check the current event date and times before travelling. The fixed date can also be compared with your personal travel period.

Culture and Connections

The historic chapel of Čavisov is the Kaple sv. Martina. As a religious building, it stands alongside the natural and sporting attractions. In addition, tram line 5 connects Čavisov with Ostrava. Alongside the routes, the chapel, sports field, and tram connection are among the area's specific points of reference. For journeys by tram, the current timetable should be checked before travelling.
