Culture and History

Litultovice presents its history through clearly dated and differently shaped traces. The fortress of Litultovice was converted into a Renaissance château by Jan Stoš of Kounic; the conversion was probably completed in 1579. At the beginning of the 19th century, a landscaped park with exotic trees and a skittle alley was created beside Litultovice Château. The park is surrounded by a château wall. Thus, the historical perspective leads from the 16th-century conversion to the park created in the early 19th century.

Sacred Sites and Remembrance

The present-day Church of St Bartholomew dates from 1847 and was rebuilt in 1925. A marble cross was erected beside the church in 1881 and consecrated on 29 January 1882. There is also an Immaculata statue at the church, with an access staircase. This means that the site brings together architectural history, a precisely dated religious monument, and the statue with its described access staircase.

The Litultovice cemetery also preserves several specific memorials and family records. The monument to those who fell in the First World War is set into the cemetery wall. It bears a granite plaque with portraits of the fallen, as well as a black granite plaque on the outside with their names. The crypt of the cemetery chapel contains the mortal remains of members of the Rolsberg family; construction of the crypt was completed in 1864. The cemetery wall, chapel, and crypt each represent a distinct part of the town's documented history.

Crafts and Paths

A special technical history is associated with the Choltice windmill. It was built in nearby Sádek in 1833 and moved to Choltice in 1878. At the same time, it is one of the few mills to have preserved complete and original grain-processing technology. Its history therefore encompasses both its original construction site and subsequent relocation, as well as the preservation of its complete technical equipment for grain processing.

The “Pilný mlýn” educational trail adds a playful station: visitors can try out a dendrophone made from various types of wood and play simple melodies on it. The educational trail also includes a barefoot sensory path that is walked with the eyes closed. According to the description, the sensory path was supposed to be fully operational after the final work section was completed in spring. The two stations offer different forms of experience: producing simple sounds in one case, and walking by touch with the eyes closed in the other.

Transport

On the Hvozdnický Express route, Railway Capital resumed services at least on weekends during the peak season. This statement explicitly refers to weekend operation during the peak season and not to continuous operation at all times.
