Culture and History

The Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul in Hněvošice is an immovable cultural monument. The Baroque wooden Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul was built in 1730 and restored in 1842. It is the only wooden church in the Hlučínsko region. The building therefore has not only monument status but also a clearly identified regional distinction.

A second defining church is the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd. It is a prominent architectural landmark of Hněvošice and can be seen from the surrounding area. Its impact is therefore described as extending beyond the village itself into the wider surroundings.

Hněvošický háj is an archaeological site with five visible burial mounds, originally dating from the Bronze Age and later containing Slavic graves from the period of the Great Moravian Empire. Nature

The Hněvošický háj Nature Reserve protects a mosaic of oak-hornbeam forests, acid-loving oak forests, and significant plant and animal species of the Carpathian region. This protected mosaic therefore includes various forest types as well as plant and animal species whose importance is connected with the Carpathian region.

The Hněvošický háj nature trail lies in the nature reserve of the same name between Hněvošice, Služovice, and Oldřišov. It is approximately 3.5 km long and has seven information panels.

In the immediate surroundings of Hněvošice lies Almin kopec Hill [Hněvošice]. Obecník Hill [Oldřišov] is also located in the immediate surroundings of Hněvošice.
