The remains of a brick church can be found on the Hradisko hillfort in Holasovice. V. Šikulová dated the church to the transition from the 12th to the 13th century. Historians regard Holasovice as an important settlement of the province of the Holasici.

Pope Hadrian IV’s bull of 23 April 1155 is also used to date Holasovice; historians identify the “Gradice golensicezke” mentioned in it with present-day Holasovice. The foundations of a brick church dating from the mid-12th century were uncovered in the garden near Javorníky.
