Těškovice: Vacation apartments and holiday homes

Těškovice lies in a varied hilly landscape at elevations ranging from 291 to 460 meters. The highest point is Mečník / Mezník. From the highest points near Těškovice, there are views of the Beskids, Ostrava’s industrial area, and the spa town of Klimkovice.

Landscape and nature

The Jamník Valley is one of the two valleys surrounding Těškovice. In the vicinity of Těškovice, the Setina Valley is home to a recreation center on the edge of the Oderské vrchy Nature Park. The forested landscape of the nature park is ideal for walks all year round and is suitable for mushroom picking in late summer and autumn. The forests around Těškovice also offer opportunities for hiking and are visited for mushroom picking.

Cycling routes and activities

Cycle route 6193 runs from Bílovec via Tísek and Těškovice to Pustá Polom. From Těškovice, it follows road II/465 toward Vyškovice and turns into the forest at a tourist trail junction. The local cycling scene also includes a traditional uphill time trial organized by TJ Sokol Těškovice; the event has already been held for the 34th time.

Culture and history

The first written records of Těškovice date back to 1377. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1863 in the Neo-Gothic style. The traditional theater festival “Těškovické jaro” presents plays by ensembles from the surrounding area and beyond. The experienced amateur theater ensemble Berani performs at amateur theater competitions and co-organizes the theater showcase “Těškovické jaro.” The ensemble has been continuously devoted to amateur theater since 1949.
