Vršovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vršovice lies on the slopes of the Nízký Jeseník. The elevation ranges from 276 m in the fields towards Opava to 525 m at the summit of Šance. A large part of Vršovice’s cadastral area is covered by forests; Vršovice is also part of the Moravice Nature Park.

Nature and Trails

The Vršovická Fairy-Tale Trail runs along a route of approximately 1.5 km across the meadows of Vršovice, from the last houses towards the forester’s lodge, and ends at the playground above the Vršovice kindergarten. The Raduň–Jakubčovice educational trail includes a stop at the forester’s lodge near Vršovice, 4 km from Raduň. It has three information stations about the plane crash, its crew and the Liberator B-24 aircraft type.

Two cycling routes are also connected with Vršovice: the marked cycle route No. 6055 runs through Branka u Opavy, Chvalíkovice, Vršovice and Raduň. Vršovice is also located on the “Údolí Raduňky a okolí” cycle network.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of the Lord in Vršovice was built in 1909 and reconstructed in 2001. During Advent, it is festively illuminated.

The wooden Chapel of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows on Brdlice was consecrated in 1949. The chapel offers views of the surrounding area and Opava; in clear weather, the Jeseníky Mountains can also be seen. The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows in Vršovice is an immovable cultural monument. On the access road from the direction of Chvalíkovice, a Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows stands beneath centuries-old linden trees. Next to the Chapel of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows, a monument erected in 1924 in Vršovice commemorates those who fell in the First World War.

Surroundings

In the immediate vicinity of Vršovice are Přílet Mountain, Podvihovský vrch Hill [Vršovice u Opavy] and Kopanina Hill [Chvalíkovice]. In the wider regional surroundings of Vršovice are Vinná hora Mountain, as well as Vildštejn and Cvilin. Vildštejn is considered a ruin site, as is Cvilin.
