Březová: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Březová is a place that reveals itself through several layers: history, playful discovery, and nature stand alongside one another as different ways of exploring it. Between historical dates, a specially developed quest format, and the landscape features along the Moravice, a multifaceted picture emerges that makes the place tangible through specific details.

Culture and History

The first written reference to Březová is traditionally dated to 1238. By 1412 at the latest, Březová was an important small town with a parish church and the right to hold annual markets. Today, this early importance can be particularly seen in the Church of St. Nicholas: the Baroque church was built in 1692 and expanded in 1862. Another historical trace stands beside it. The linden tree next to the Church of St. Nicholas was planted in 1698.

The local questing activities also draw on the history and special features of the place without presenting them merely as dates. Questing in Březová combines a game with getting to know the place being visited; a treasure awaits at the end. The quests in Březová convey the local natural, cultural, and historical heritage and make it something visitors can experience. The so-called Březovský quest was created by pupils from ZŠ Březová. Thus, the documented facets of the place include not only its historical heritage, but also a format created by the local school that leads this heritage into a discovery of its own.

Nature

Another side of Březová can be seen in Obora Jelenice. Obora Jelenice lies behind the village on the right bank of the Moravice. At Obora Jelenice, located on the right bank of the Moravice, there are sedge marshes and a spring with snowdrops; the spring lies below Vlčí hůra. The landscape described here therefore includes both the riverside setting and wet habitats, a spring, and the seasonally striking presence of snowdrops.

Red deer, mouflon, elk, sika deer, and wild boar are kept in Obora Jelenice. This list makes the character of the place more concrete and complements the landscape information with the animal species kept there. Together with the spring below Vlčí hůra and the sedge marshes, it creates a natural setting closely connected with the right bank of the Moravice and the location behind the village.

Bus route 242 is also documented for geographical orientation. It operates along the Vítkov–Větřkovice–Březová–Hradec nad Moravicí–Opava route. The route places Březová in connection with these locations while also showing the sequence of stops within which the village is integrated into public transport.
