Mokré Lazce: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Mokré Lazce–Lipovice is a paleontological site. The holotype of a trigonotarbid arachnid was found there; in addition, the oldest fossil of a land animal discovered in the territory of today’s Czech Republic was found there.

Culture and History

In the 16th century, the Tvorkovští had a wooden church built in Mokré Lazce and entrusted it to the administration of the Dominican Order. The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Mokré Lazce is a protected cultural monument.

In 2024, the parish of Mokré Lazce took part in the Night of Churches and offered, among other things, an exhibition on the history of the church and parish, a musical performance, and an interactive children’s programme in the local Church of Saint John the Baptist.

The Chapel of Saint Anne in Mokré Lazce is a small Baroque chapel dating from 1747, located on a road within the built-up area of the village.

Activities

Areál Na skalách is a meeting place for locals and people from the surrounding area. From the village, it is best reached through a pedestrian tunnel. A maypole is traditionally erected there; official events and informal gatherings are also held there.

Lyžařský klub Mokré Lazce provides competitive and recreational sports in cross-country skiing and alpine skiing, road cycling, mountain biking, and recreational tourism. The club organises road cycling and mountain biking races.

The only access route to the Mokré Lazce–Lipovice paleontological site is now heavily obstructed and severely overgrown.
