Horní Domaslavice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Mořské oko is protected as an important landscape feature and is one of the five stops on the educational trail in Horní Domaslavice.

Nature and trails

The educational trail is easily accessible by bus and car. Parking spaces are available at the entrance by the Church of St. James the Elder. Horní Domaslavice is also crossed by the well-maintained regional cycle route 6005 and the local cycle path 6163.

Culture and history

The Church of St. James the Elder is a late Baroque building constructed between 1739 and 1745. After the church and parish buildings burned down on 25 August 1892, a new parish and church were built in 1893, and the tower was repaired again; the appearance from that time has been preserved to this day. In 1999, the parish Church of St. James the Elder was declared a cultural monument by a decision of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

According to tradition, the Chapel of St. Anne in Horní Domaslavice dates back to 1654; later, it also served as a crypt. The cross near Vidíkov bears the year 1863; it presumably commemorates the access to the cemetery at the site of the first wooden church in the municipality, which no longer survives today. The castle of Horní Domaslavice later disappeared and was gradually demolished.
