Krásná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Most of the cadastral area of Krásná lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. For geographical context, Visalaje is part of the municipality: the mountain settlement lies in the Zadní hory mountains in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids at an altitude of 800 m and on the watershed of the Morávka and Mohelnice rivers. Administratively, the settlement belongs to Krásná.

History and Culture

The origins of Krásná are associated with the Wallachian colonization of the Beskids.

Landscape

The summit of Lysá hora lies on the boundary of the municipalities of Krásná, Malenovice, Ostravice and Staré Hamry. A road leads from Krásná to the bare summit, where there is a distinctive telecommunications transmitter, a meteorological station and several mountain huts.

The mountains of Kyčera, Kykulka, Travný and Malchor are located in the immediate vicinity of Krásná. Near the Visalaje recreation centre there is also the Obidová natural monument, with valuable Beskid peat meadows (Sihlen) in a flat hollow below the ridge, in the source area of the Sihelský stream.

Activities

Visalaje has numerous hiking and cycling trails. In winter, there are cross-country skiing trails as well as a ski resort with numerous lifts and slopes.

There are several ski slopes and lifts in Zlatník. In the southern part, towards Vyšní Mohelnice, lies the Ski Zlatník-Fela resort. Another option on foot is the “Krásný výlet Krásnou” circular trail: it is 11 km long and starts and ends at the Krásná–Zlatník car park.
