Kozlovice can be explored through its culture, landscape and trails – with historic sites, informative collections and tangible insights into the area’s past.

Culture

In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Areál Fojtství was the seat of the Wallachian voivodes of the Hukvaldy estate, who were responsible for managing the sheep pastures in the remote mountains. The reconstructed Areál Fojtství features several independent permanent exhibitions and offers the possibility of a guided tour.

The Obecná škola Museum features an exhibition of a traditional kitchen with a brick stove, bread oven, household vessels and historic baking utensils. There is also an authentically furnished classroom where visitors can sit on historic wooden benches and write with a slate pencil on slate boards.

The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Kozlovice was built between 1731 and 1742 next to an older church made largely of wood, which had probably been built around 1300. The Church of St Michael and St Barbara is a national cultural monument. The elongated single-nave building has a polygonally ended presbytery and a prismatic tower.

Landscape

The Na Mlýně complex lies on the right bank of the Ondřejnice near the lower end of Kozlovice, where the stream cuts into the Palkovické Hůrky hills and forms a natural gorge several kilometres long. The complex includes a reconstructed mill with a 250-metre-long millrace and a fully functional water wheel.

The Šmiřákův mlýn mill, now part of the Na Mlýně complex, was one of the four oldest mills in Kozlovice and was already recorded in the first surviving estate register from 1581. Opposite the Na Mlýně complex, the Stations of the Cross on the slope of Skalka Hill comprise 14 stations painted according to original designs of folk oil paintings dating from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Hiking

Janáčkův chodníček is one of the educational trails presented as hiking routes starting from Kozlovice.

Food and Drink

The Valašský pivovar brewery in Kozlovice invites visitors to taste and discover craft beer in the heart of Kozlovice.
