Žermanice: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Žermanice is a gateway to the Žermanická přehradní nádrž recreational area, which was built between 1951 and 1958 and is used for recreational purposes. Local cycle routes run along its shore in the vicinity of Žermanice.

Nature

Žermanický lom is a disused, currently flooded and partially backfilled teschenite quarry. It contains a secondary wetland habitat with occurrences of protected plant and animal species; numerous amphibians reproduce in its pools.

Culture

The reconstruction of the Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary improved its technical condition and appearance. An Advent concert by the mixed choir Permoník from Karviná took place there.

Experiences

Azyl & FaunaPark Blondies has been closed since 1 July 2026 due to illness and construction work until further notice. The offer includes commented tours lasting 1 to 2 hours; afterwards, participants can freely visit the entire faunapark. On request, the park offers themed commented tours focusing on poultry and waterfowl, pheasants, ratites such as ostriches, rabbits, rodents, cattle, ruminants such as horses and sheep, tortoises, and small predators such as meerkats, mongooses and raccoons. The park offers children the opportunity to try out what caring for animals as an animal keeper involves. During the closure, however, these tours, the free visit and the opportunity for children should not be considered currently available to visitors.
