Ropice lies in the broad valley of the Ropičanka River in the Podbeskydí region.

Culture

Ropice Castle was rebuilt in the Neoclassical style in 1810. The listed castle ensemble includes a castle park and the dam of the castle pond.

The parish Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Ropice was built in 1806 on the site of the Baroque Church of St Catherine, dating from 1733 to 1736. During repairs in 2019, the chapel on the right in the cemetery by the church received new interior and exterior plaster as well as stone cladding.

Things to Do

A shared path for pedestrians and cyclists connects the town of Třinec with Český Těšín via the Nebory district and Ropice. Behind Ropice Castle, the path joins Cycle Route 46 from Jihlava to Český Těšín.

The puzzle trail to Ropice can be completed with an all-terrain stroller or by bicycle.

Golf

Ropice Golf Resort has a 27-hole complex, which was expanded by a further nine holes in 2023. Both professional and less experienced players can play golf at the resort. The resort’s golf course offers panoramic views of the Silesian Beskids massif, dominated by Javorový vrch.

Ropice has a stop on the main railway line from Bohumín via Jablunkov to Žilina.
