Skuhrov nad Bělou is a natural gateway to the Orlické hory.

Nature

The Vápenka Skuhrov educational trail begins in the center of Skuhrov nad Bělou and leads along a forest path to Skuhrov Castle. It is named after a local water reservoir from the early 20th century and features information boards about the history of Vápenka.

The Rybářská česko-finská educational trail is lined with information boards about the local flora and fauna and is approximately 1.5 kilometers long. The Skuhrovská lípa is one of the Czech Republic’s memorial trees.

Culture

The Church of St. James the Elder in Skuhrov nad Bělou was built between 1715 and 1718 and features a Baroque altar from the 18th century. Panský dům is a historic building dating from 1806. Skuhrov nad Bělou is also home to a statue of Saint Wenceslas from the first half of the 19th century.

Proměny dřeva is an annual symposium for chainsaw wood carving held in Skuhrov nad Bělou during the first days of July.

Discoveries

The Skuhrov castle ruins include an 11-meter-high observation tower. The castle ruins also feature an open-air amphitheater. The Skuhrov castle ruins and observation tower are freely accessible year-round; free parking is available at the castle ruins.

The local Porkert company was converted into a gray cast iron foundry and later modernized. The ironmaking exhibition is located in the Skuhrov municipal office building and contains a collection of products from the J. Porkert company in Skuhrov nad Bělou. It can be visited on the working days of the Skuhrov nad Bělou municipal office and the tourist information center.
