Vranovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vranovice lies where woodland landscapes, historical traces and practical routes through the region come together. The large Brdy forest complex stretches north and west of Vranovice. The Třemšín Nature Park reaches the southern edge of the Brdy Mountains. This location offers opportunities for interesting excursions on foot and by bicycle.

Landscape and Routes

One specific connection for cyclists is cycle route 2273, which runs for 20.2 km from Trokavec to Vranovice. In addition, Vranovice lies on the road between Příbram and Rožmitál pod Třemšínem.

History and Culture

The Melichárek castle site is an immovable cultural monument with archaeological traces of a fortification. Of the medieval castle site dating from the 13th to the 15th century, only the central mound remains; the ditches have since been filled in.

Another remnant of an earlier fortification is the Vranovická hůrka castle site. It is situated on a lightly wooded rise in the fields, about 500 m northwest of the edge of Vranovice. The low perimeter ramparts are best seen from the north.

The chapel also preserves an art-historical detail: it contains a Baroque statue of Saint Anne dating from the late 18th century.

Water and Local Details

The local landscape also includes the public swimming pool. It was originally a fire-fighting water reservoir and was ceremonially opened to the public in 1975. A stone millstone was installed as a memento on the swimming pool's dam.
