Chraštice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a prominent landmark of Chraštice and the surrounding area. The church includes the North Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, which is now used as a storage depot.

Culture and Townscape

Another defining feature is the sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. It stands on a tall column pedestal and dates from the first half of the 19th century. The saint is depicted with a cross without a corpus, resting on a palm branch. The statue is located in the southern part of the village square, diagonally opposite the parish house at No. 1, and has been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958.

The Chraštická plačka, an Empire-style tomb with a balustrade and a sculptural group, stands in the cemetery. It was erected in 1789 and is listed in the register of artistic monuments of Bohemia.

Memorial Sites

A monument in front of the church commemorates those who fell in the First and Second World Wars. The war memorial was erected shortly after the First World War in its memory and bears the inscription “The grateful settlement of Chraštice to its heroes 1914–1919”.

Transport and Cycle Route

Chraštice is connected by the first-class I/4 road and third-class roads. Cycle Route No. 302 Praha–Vídeň is also designated for Chraštice.
