In the former Paulaner monastery, only the Church of Saint Joseph is accessible.
Culture and History
The Baroque Paulaner monastery complex in Obořiště was built between 1681 and 1712. It is a prominent urban-planning feature in the north-western part of Obořiště. The northern part of the former monastery garden has remained comparatively well preserved, without more recent construction.
The former fortress in Obořiště is part of the area's older history. It was first mentioned in written sources on 4 June 1425 in connection with a siege and was subsequently burned down. No structural remains have survived; it is said to have stood where the Nový rybník pond is located today.
Brewery
The Nový Rybník Brewery was founded in 2013 with the aim of reviving the brewing tradition in the Dobříšsko region. By prior arrangement, it offers brewery tours with explanations and tastings.
