Sádek: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The 28-kilometre-long Fabiánova naučná stezka educational trail runs through Sádek. It points out local sights, connects the member municipalities with information boards, and familiarises tourists and cyclists with the scenic beauty of the region.

Nature and cycling

Sádek lies in the foothills of the Brdy Mountains and in the CHKO Brdy Protected Landscape Area. Cycle Route No. 302 Prague–Vienna also runs through the village.

History

The first historically documented building in Sádek was the farmstead of the Zajíců z Valdeka family, located on what is now the village green. The historic field name “U páně dvora” has been preserved in the cadastral area. The name Sádek most probably originated as a diminutive of “sad” (orchard). The so-called Panský dvůr belonged to the Sasků ze Sádku family. Nail making was also widespread on the old farmsteads of Sádek.

Events

The “Sádek na kolejích” event was a model railway exhibition in Sádek and was held for the fourth time.

On site
