Třtice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Třtice combines local history and church architecture with a landscape of ponds and wetlands, a cycling route, and recurring events.

History and Church

Třtice was already settled in the Stone Age; the first written references date back to the 14th century.

In the centre of Třtice, the Church of Saint Nicholas stands on a slight rise; a separate parish priest is documented there as early as the 13th century. The originally Gothic church was rebuilt in Baroque form after a fire in the second quarter of the 18th century. It is a single-nave building: the 11-metre-long and 8-metre-wide nave is topped by a barrel vault.

Nature and Water

Bucek Pond lies in the cadastral area of Třtice and covers 24.5 hectares. Two protected English oaks, more than 400 years old, reinforce the dam at Bucek Pond with their roots.

The V Bahnách Nature Reserve is home to protected plant and animal species, including round-leaved sundew and common butterwort. At the same time, it protects aquatic, wetland, and meadow plant communities, as well as animal communities on peat and marshland with rare, specially protected species.

Chatkový kemp Bucek offers 10 cabins with a capacity of 3 people each, as well as pitches for your own tents, caravans, and motorhomes.

Cycling Route and Events

The 21-kilometre cycling route No. 8192 “Novostrašecko” runs through the cadastral areas of Řevničov, Třtice, Mšec, Mšecké Žehrovice, and Nové Strašecí. It follows the dams and shores of the Třtický, Bucký, Malá Punčocha, Velká Punčocha, Mlýnský, Pilský, Červený, and Lodenický ponds.

The Bucek Triathlon takes place every year on a Saturday around the transition from July to August and is open to everyone. The winter run “Vánoční běh” is held regularly on 26 December. The SPOLU Festival took place in Třtice on 31 August 2024 as a festival for children and adults, and on 30 August 2025 as a children’s festival.
