Střezimíř: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The approximately 15-kilometre circular route Vyhlídková trasa Střezimíř runs over the hills around Střezimíř. It is marked with blue trail markers leading to seven viewpoints.

Nature and Trails

The hilltop with the Chapel of St. Adalbert offers expansive views in all directions, especially to the south. The Chapel of St. Adalbert has been newly renovated and features an illusionistic altar.

Church and History

The Parish Church of St. Gallus in Střezimíř is a Gothic building; its presbytery has a particularly elaborate vault with numerous branching ribs and is illuminated by three Gothic windows. The Church of St. Gallus has been documented in writing since 1352; its Gothic structure dates from the 14th century and was modified in the 17th century.

Events

Every year, Střezimíř is one of the most sought-after starting points for the legendary Praha–Prčice march. The Svatohavelské posvícení in Střezimíř is considered a celebration of the anniversary of the consecration of the church dedicated to St. Gallus.

Railway and Station

Line 220, on which Střezimíř railway station is located, is designated as the (Praha–) Olbramovice–České Budějovice route.

Visitors to the Železniční skanzen Střezimíř can already enjoy an experiential ride on a rail trolley. The visitor programme at the Železniční skanzen Střezimíř includes short guided tours of the station grounds. The Železniční skanzen Střezimíř is being transformed in a former railway station on the Prague–Linz line into an interactive museum and a living memorial to the railway history of Česká Sibiř.
