Čakov can be explored on several levels: through its history, the local landscape and its connections with the surrounding area.
History and Culture
The first written mention of Čakov dates back to 1226. Its historical past includes the former fortress above Čakov and Tatouňovice, which was finally destroyed around 1420. Defensive ramparts have survived from this former fortress. The village is also home to the chapel “Kaplička Panny Marie (Čakov)”.
