Olbramovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of All Saints in Olbramovice is originally Romanesque. Remnants of this construction phase include the rubble masonry of the tower, the tower with its twin windows, and the surrounding masonry of the nave. In 1866, the church was remodelled and given its present pseudo-Romanesque façade. Its tower features paired windows divided by small columns, as well as dressed granite edges around the windows and on the tower.

Culture and History

The Špejchar is a granary belonging to the farmyard and a cultural monument in Olbramovice. The Sýpka is a two-storey, brick-built granary with a hipped roof, originating in the Renaissance and remodelled in the Baroque period. Remnants of sgraffito decoration and ornamental window openings with illusionistic painting have been preserved on the Sýpka.

The building Dům | Sýpka has a Renaissance core, probably dating from the second half of the 16th century, and is an integral part of the historic manor estate in the village. In the village centre stood Tvrziště Příkop, a vanished medieval fortress dating from the 13th to the 15th century, located in a pond. The only visible remains of the fortification are the remnants of the pond dam on the eastern side of the site.

The sculptural group of the Virgin Mary and Saint John in Olbramovice, dating from 1706 – the Baroque Calvary sculpture group – consists of a central granite balustrade in front of a vanished wooden cross, as well as sandstone statues of the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist on higher granite plinths. The year 1706 is inscribed on the plinth of the statue of the Virgin Mary.

Nature

A considerable part of Olbramovice lies within Džbány–Žebrák Nature Park, designated in 1996. The nearby Podhrázský rybník Nature Reserve is also located in the surrounding area; it is an ornithological area and an important resting place for migratory waterbirds and waders.

Paths and Transport Connections

The Votice–Olbramovice cycle path was completed, opened for use and officially inaugurated on 15 September 2023. The Po stopách Sidonie Nádherné educational trail connects Olbramovice with Vrchotovy Janovice, has seven stops and is approximately 8.3 km long.

The Prague–České Budějovice railway line runs through Olbramovice. The international I/3 road from Prague to Tábor also passes through the village.
