Kuňovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

To the north of Kuňovice lies Javornická hůra, which reaches an elevation of 583 metres above sea level. It is the highest peak in the vicinity of Kuňovice and is located two kilometres north of the village. The municipality of Kuňovice covers 345 hectares, of which 67 % is arable land.

History and Village Character

The first written mention of Kuňovice dates back to 1412. A chapel stands in the village square and is a prominent landmark. It was built and repaired in 1908. A memorial to those who fell in the First World War is also located in the village square.

The former fortress of Kuňovice stood on the site where the houses with house numbers 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 26 now stand. The rotunda was originally Romanesque and was later remodelled in the Baroque style.

Cycling Tour

Kuňovice is listed as a village on the 31-kilometre “Vlašim Alleys” cycling tour. The cycling tour, on which Kuňovice is listed as a village, is intended for trekking bikes and mountain bikes. It runs mainly along field and forest paths, as well as partly along roads.

Transport

Road No. 112 runs through Kuňovice and connects Vlašim with Čechtice.
