Louňovice pod Blaníkem: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Louňovice pod Blaníkem is situated in the hilly landscape of Central Bohemia, where fields, forests, meadows and small ponds alternate in a mosaic-like pattern. One of the defining historical sites is the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary: it is the surviving part of the former monastery in Louňovice, was originally Gothic and was remodelled in the Baroque style.
Nature and Landscape
Velký Blaník rises above Louňovice pod Blaníkem to a height of 638 metres above sea level. The Blanice flows through the town and meanders picturesquely through its surroundings. With a little luck, small flakes or scales of natural gold can be washed out of this river.
History and Culture
Louňovice Chateau originated from a fortress built during the Renaissance on the site of the former monastery provostry and was remodelled in the Baroque style in 1675. Today, the chateau is used for museums, exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events.
The Museum of the Earliest History of Louňovice pod Blaníkem is currently temporarily closed. The Beekeeping Museum in Louňovice pod Blaníkem, on the other hand, presents the history of beekeeping beneath Blaník, including historic beehives. From spring to September, an observation hive with a living bee colony complements the exhibition.
The Svatováclavské slavnosti in Louňovice take place at the end of September. They begin with a mass on Velký Blaník and continue with a procession in medieval clothing to the chateau. The annual Podblanický hudební podzim music festival takes place in the Jan Dismas Zelenka concert hall at Louňovice Chateau and also features works by Zelenka.
