Holiday apartment in Lešany: Military Museum, château and educational trails
Lešany: The Vojenské technické muzeum Lešany displays more than 700 historic tanks, cannons, motorcycles, armoured, cargo and passenger vehicles, as well as missile technology, communications and engineering equipment, and logistics material from the period between 1890 and the present day.
Culture
Since 1996, the Vojenské technické muzeum Lešany has been located in the former artillery barracks between Krhanice and Lešany near Týnec nad Sázavou. As part of the annual opening of the exhibition season, events featuring demonstrations of historic military technology in motion take place in the museum arena. The Tankové dny, held on the last Saturday at the end of the summer holidays, are among the biggest events of the year. The museum experience ranges from the historic technology on display to an event held at a scheduled time.
History
Zámek Lešany was converted from an older manor house in the mid-16th century. After 1683, the St Vitus Chapter at Prague Castle gave the château its present four-wing layout. On the first floor, Zámek Lešany offers an Art Nouveau tour, while the ground floor and chapel house the exhibition Největší záhady a tajemství světa. The Pamětní síň Františka Hrubína is located in the building of the Lešany municipal office and presents an exhibition about the life and work of František Hrubín connected with the region.
In the château, the tour and exhibition are assigned to different areas of the building. For planning the day, cultural themes such as military technology, château history, Art Nouveau and the commemoration of František Hrubín can be compared with the educational trails in the surrounding area.
Educational trails
The educational trail Historií Lešan leads through the area surrounding Lešany and introduces visitors to the nature, history and sights of the municipality and the local region. The educational trail Podlešanský mlýn begins at Krhanice railway station and ends in Lešany-Nová Ves. It is 5.5 km long and has six stops with information boards. The details of the start, end, route length and stops provide specific points of comparison for the two route options.
Nature
The walking route Za Františkem Hrubínem do Lešan runs along a yellow-marked section between two ponds to the edge of Lešany and then to the village square. From Zámek Lešany, another route follows yellow markings to the edge of Nová Ves; it then continues on green markings to Kamenný Přívoz. The named destinations and the change in trail marking distinguish the described routes by their respective sequence of waypoints.
When choosing a holiday apartment in Lešany, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be compared alongside the planned cultural or hiking day. This keeps the accommodation decision separate from the specifically described exhibitions, events and route courses.
Other places include Načeradec, Stranný, Lipiny U Radosovic, Soběhrdy, Kondrac, Krivacek, Dolní Kralovice and Hvězdonice.
