Within the cadastral area of the municipality of Petroupim, the 519.6 m-high Krásná Hora mountain lies amid a spruce forest. The stone Konírna F. F. d‘ Este is located there and is one of the local monuments in Petroupim. The mountain is a destination for walks; there is a covered seating area where visitors can rest. It is also the destination of a traditional New Year’s ascent.
Nature
The wooded northern part of the Petroupim area is of high landscape value. The floodplains of the streams in the southern part of the Petroupim area are also of high landscape value.
Routes
The landscape around Petroupim is used mainly for cycling and hiking. Marked hiking trails lead through the Petroupim area. Cycle Route 0068 follows a designated road from Okrouhlice in the south to Soběhrdy via Petroupim and runs away from heavily trafficked routes. A hiking route from Chocerady via Bělčice and Kozmice to Benešov also passes through Petroupim.
Culture
An old cross stands at the intersection of field paths and footpaths leading to Petroupim; it has stood there since the time of the Lords Kostka of Postupice. The former school building in Petroupim was ceremonially opened and consecrated on April 1, 1912. The first written mention of Petroupim dates back to 1318; at that time, the knight Beneš of Petroupim lived there.
