Porící Nad Sázavou: Apartments and Holiday Homes

The stone bridge in Poříčí nad Sázavou crosses the Sázava. Its five segmental arches have a span of 18.3 metres and a rise of 2.5 metres. It was built in 1849–1850 to replace a wooden bridge that had been destroyed by a flood.

Culture and History

The Church of St Havel is located directly on the banks of the Sázava and is surrounded by a small cemetery. It was built around 1225. Its underground crypt is one of four crypts of the same age and type that have been preserved in their original form in Bohemia.

Petra in Poříčí nad Sázavou is considered one of the most remarkable Romanesque structures in the Czech Republic. Figurative paintings were discovered in its apse in 1914, fully uncovered in 1935, and restored by František Fišer.

The Battle of Poříčí nad Sázavou is also part of the locality's history. It took place on the night of 19–20 May 1420 and was significant for reconstructing the Taborites' campaign to support Prague, which was threatened by Sigismund.

Cycling

Cycle Route No. 19 runs through Poříčí nad Sázavou along the Havlíčkův Brod–Sázava–Čerčany–Poříčí nad Sázavou–Týnec nad Sázavou–Davle route. The “From Týnec to Zbořený Kostelec and Poříčí” route is also designated as an easy cycling tour, with a length of 20 kilometres.
