About 1 kilometre southeast of Vracovice lies the Částrovické rybníky protected area. The ponds of the same name consist of three smaller ponds and wet meadows in a shallow valley along the Částrovický stream. In addition, part of the cadastral area of Vracovice lies within the Blaník Protected Landscape Area.
Nature and Landscape
The wet meadows of Částrovické rybníky are home to protected plant species such as the broad-leaved marsh orchid and bogbean. Machlov Pond is part of the Částrovické rybníky natural monument in the Blaník Protected Landscape Area. The project to restore it, carried out in consultation with the municipality of Vracovice, included dredging the pond, repairing the dam and completely restoring the pond ecosystem. Today, Machlov Pond is considered an important natural area with a species-rich community of plants and animals.
Chapel and Village Green
The chapel in Vracovice is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. During the reconstruction from 1980 to 1984, the ceiling was raised and a choir and a tower were built; as a result, the original chapel was transformed into a small church. A memorial plaque commemorating those who fell in the First World War is located on the chapel wall by the village green in Vracovice.
Cycle Paths and Events
The approximately 25-kilometre-long “Po stopách blanických rytířů” cycle path runs through Vracovice and has six rest stops with information boards. It follows forest and field tracks as well as roads with light traffic for only part of the route. Vracovice is one of the municipalities that, together with other localities and Kraj blanických rytířů, z. s., annually hosts the “Blanický cyklorytíř” cycling event, which traditionally opens the cycling season.
