Rostoklaty: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
A precisely dated monument in Rostoklaty is the symbolic sandstone cross erected by Josef and Barbora Chroust. Pastor Jan Kinzl from Tuklaty consecrated it on 19 June 1853. The 4.2-metre-high, octagonal sandstone cross features pseudo-Gothic motifs and mouldings.
Culture and History
The first Gothic Church of St. Martin in Rostoklaty was probably built at the end of the first half of the 14th century; it was first mentioned in writing in 1352. On the Gospel side of the triumphal arch stands a stone, prismatic Renaissance pulpit, which Martin Náchodský, the hetman of the Škvorec estate, had commissioned in 1574.
Several high-quality tombstones dating from the second half of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century have been preserved in the former cemetery in Rostoklaty. The memorial plaque for those who fell in the First World War is located on the building of the municipal office in Rostoklaty.
