Podlesí: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Podlesí lies in the valley of the Litavka below the Březové Hory. Throughout its history, the village was connected with silver mining in the Příbram area.

Culture

The nativity scenes from Podlesí are characterised by naïve woodcarving. The Lesní divadlo Skalka open-air theatre in Podlesí is known for an annual summer theatre festival featuring the Skalka amateur ensemble. Volunteer theatre groups and Divadlo A. Dvořáka Příbram regularly perform at Lesní divadlo Skalka. The current season includes theatre performances for children and adults as well as concerts.

The religious monuments of Podlesí include the chapel in Staré Podlesí. The Church of Svatá Anna is located in the surroundings of Podlesí; further afield in the region is the Church of Malá Svatá Hora.

Landscape

Kášův rybník has been designated by the municipality as a recreational area in Podlesí. The mountain Velká Třemošná is located in the immediate surroundings of Podlesí. The ruins of Zřícenina Valdek and the mountains Velký Chlum, Jordán and Hejlák are located in the surrounding area.

History

Near Podlesí, the Jánská strouha stream flowed into an adit in the area of what is now Odvaly forest park. Further afield in the region of Podlesí is the historical site “Lety u Písku. Památník holokaustu Romů a Sintů v Čechách”.
