The Baroque birthplace of the renowned Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, located next to Nelahozeves Castle, is a designated national cultural monument. It offers specialised music education courses, workshops, concerts, a meditation garden and programmes to enrich the local community. The Poesiomat in Nelahozeves is a jukebox that traces the life and presents excerpts from the work of the world-famous composer.

History

The Church of St Andrew in Nelahozeves is originally Gothic; its oldest Gothic part is the presbytery. It contains a Baroque altar and a Gothic sanctuary. Since the beginning of June 2026, regular guided tours with commentary have been held in the historic church, presenting its history and architectural features. An installation at Nelahozeves Castle, inspired by the era of Prince Ferdinand Zdeněk of Lobkowicz (1858–1938), presents the life of a noble family in Bohemia at the end of the 19th century in twelve contemporary period rooms.

Paths and Nature

On the left bank of the Vltava, the Dvořákova stezka connects Kralupy nad Vltavou with Nelahozeves and runs parallel to the red hiking trail and the cycle path from Prague to Dresden. It passes through lush vegetation and is lined with tall trees along almost its entire length. A rocky massif accompanies it along the entire route; at several points, it is possible to reach the rock directly. The Nelahozeves Castle Trail connects the Nelahozeves castle grounds with the Dvořákova stezka.

Marina Vltava offers its guests berths for boats, boat rentals and sightseeing cruises.
