Kanina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kanina is situated on a plateau above the geomorphologically diverse area of Kokořínský důl and above the Vrbodol Valley. The Kokořínský důl Nature Reserve includes, among other areas, the cadastral territory of Kanina.

Nature

The Kokořínský důl Nature Reserve protects sandstone terrain with gorge-like valleys, rock steps, small rock cities and weathering formations such as the Pokličky.

Trails and Activities

A red-marked hiking trail runs through the Údolí Kočičina Valley from Sedlec to the “U Grobiána” trail junction in Kokořínský důl. The Údolí Kočičina Valley is located in the Kokořínský důl Nature Reserve.

Kanina is a designated access point to the Kokořínský důl climbing area. In the “Skály v Kočičině a Vrbodole” climbing area, climbing is permitted year-round within designated polygons.

Culture and Townscape

Kanina’s water tower, dating from the early 20th century, is an unusual example of the architecture of such water supply facilities. High-quality buildings of rural vernacular architecture have been preserved in Kanina’s historic centre.

Events

Country Kaninafest is an annual gathering of music groups performing Czech and American country and bluegrass music.
