Obříství: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The publicly accessible Bedřich Smetana Memorial is located at Lamberk in Obříství, in the former Ferdinandi estate. Smetana began composing his opera The Bartered Bride here. In the attic, there is the original carved bed of the Smetana couple; the memorial also preserves the piano on which Smetana composed the opera.

Culture

The Svatopluk Čech Memorial is located in his former home and a wooden extension, where he lived from 1895 to 1903. The memorial’s historic rooms are currently used for wedding ceremonies.

Obříství village square is lined with houses featuring colourful Baroque gables, built in 1714. In the eastern part of the village square, which lies roughly in the centre of the village, stands the Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. It is a plastered, single-nave building with a rectangular nave and a three-sided enclosed presbytery.

The protected Obříství chateau complex comprises the chateau, the Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, a wooden bell tower, a park, an enclosing wall and the associated land. The rear parts of the chateau grounds and the park are freely accessible, while the front part is fenced off.
