Lobeč: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The steam-powered brewery in Lobeč is a technical monument and bears witness to a five-hundred-year brewing tradition in the Kokořínsko region.

Culture and History

At the Eduard Štorch Museum, an exhibition presents Eduard Štorch as a progressive educator and innovator in education, researcher, amateur archaeologist, writer and rebel. On display are personal belongings, correspondence, notes, illustrations, teaching aids and a library.

The Eduard Štorch themed educational trail leads through places connected with the novel Minehava and includes true-to-scale replicas of some of his teaching methods.

The Lobeč château complex, with its farmyard and park, has been an immovable cultural monument since 1966. Jan Ignác Věžník remodelled Lobeč Château in the Baroque style in 1724; it has essentially been preserved in this form to the present day. The extensively reconstructed Lobeč Château now serves as a guesthouse.

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was originally Gothic, was mentioned as a parish church in the 14th century, remodelled around 1532 and later restored in the Baroque style. Eduard Štorch's grave is located in the local cemetery in Lobeč; visitors can look for his grave there.

Nature and Trails

A blue hiking trail from the direction of Mšeno runs through the village heritage zone of Lobeč.

The surroundings of Lobeč are home to the ruins of Starý Berštejn, as well as Nedvězí Mountain [Dubá-Dražejov], Berkovský vrch Mountain, Lysá Mountain and Hořice Mountain.

Festivals and Culinary Delights

The taproom of Pivovar Lobeč serves traditional Czech cuisine and its own craft-brewed beer. The traditional Lobeč Masopust features a masked procession through the village, with stops at neighbours' homes, the brewery and the château; entertainment then continues at the Sokol hall.
