Spomyšl: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Jewish residents lived in Spomyšl for several centuries.
Landscape and regional setting
Spomyšl is located in the flat Podřipsko landscape and belongs to the area around the lower reaches of the Vltava and its confluence with the Elbe. The region around Spomyšl lies in a warm climate zone with low levels of precipitation. The warmth, dryness and excellent soil quality create very good conditions for agricultural production in the region around Spomyšl.
The construction and opening of a bypass greatly reduced heavy freight traffic in Spomyšl, making it a quiet area in Podřipsko.
History and culture
The humanitarian association Humanitäts Verein Bikur-Cholin Gomel Chamdin Spomyschl was founded in Spomyšl in 1877. Historically, Spomyšl had three libraries; associations also organised music and theatre performances. Pálení čarodějnic is a traditional event in Spomyšl.
