Stránka: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Stránka is home to Stránka Castle, a two-winged Baroque castle with a clock tower and ground-level arcades.

Culture and history

The first mention of Stránka dates back to 1357. A room on the castle’s first floor formerly served as the Chapel of Saint John and housed a Baroque altar dedicated to Our Lady of Good Counsel. The municipality of Stránka bought the castle in 2016 and renovated six apartments in the castle building.

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is badly damaged, particularly in its lower section. To protect it from further deterioration, it is shielded by a grille.

The wooden structure above Stránka is probably a bell tower. It is in very good technical condition, and its surroundings are maintained. The bell tower of Stránka offers a beautiful view of Stránka; it is located about 50 metres from cycle routes 0008 and 0009.

Cycle routes

Cycle route 0009 runs through Stránka and connects Mělnické Vtelno, Kadlín, Stránka, Mšeno and Vojtěchov. The statue of Saint Wenceslas stands immediately beside cycle route 0008. The war memorial stands in Stránka’s village square; it is accessible and located directly on cycle routes 0008 and 0009.

Landscape and events

Stránka lies in a fertile landscape characterised by forests. A regional road towards Mladá Boleslav runs around Stránka.

The Stránecký běh is a recurring local running event in Stránka. The 12th edition took place in 2022, and the 13th edition in 2023. A 5,400-metre running course was used for the 2023 Stránecký běh. The Stránecký pochod took place afterwards as a walking activity at the 2022 Stránecký běh; a 5,400-metre walking route was used for the 2022 Stránecký pochod.
