Úžice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Úžice lies on the southern edge of the Mělník Basin, at the southwestern foot of Dřínov and in the valley of the Černávka stream. The first written mention of Úžice dates back to 1405.

Landscape

The Dřínovská stráň Nature Reserve is one of three specially protected areas in the administrative area of the municipality of Úžice. The Kopeč Nature Reserve consists of two volcanic hills and is considered the oldest protected area in Central Bohemia.

Netřebská slaniska are remnants of former marshes and salt marshes in the Úžice area and are located along a railway line. Netřebská slaniska are also one of three specially protected areas in the administrative area of the municipality of Úžice and protect natural salt-loving communities.

History

Dřínovská hora was settled and fortified several times, most recently probably at the time of the arrival of the first Slavs. Zámek Ostrov is located in the vicinity of Úžice.

The Botanická zahrada Praha is located near Úžice. The wider regional surroundings of Úžice include Stará kanalizační čistírna Praha-Bubeneč, Letohrádek královny Anny, Galerie Rudolfinum, Velké Benátky, Slovanský ostrov and Veslařský ostrov.

Transport and events

Bus route 372 connects Kobylisy, Úžice and Kralupy. The Úžický masopust was scheduled for 14 February from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the local fire station.
