Srbsko: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Srbsko is located in the Český ráj Protected Landscape Area, in the marshy Branžež Basin, and is surrounded by forests and rocks. The Kněžmostka stream rises in Srbsko.

Nature

One of the distinctive natural features is the Sokolka rock massif. It is approximately 500 metres long and 200 metres wide, has walls up to 40 metres high and consists of sandstone in various colours. In the vicinity of Srbsko, a red-marked trail leads around the imposing Sokolka rock formation.

History

Archaeological finds date the origins of Srbsko back to the 13th century. The first written mention of the settlement dates from 1534. Srbsko was probably named after the Sorbian colonists, presumably from Lusatia, who founded the settlement. A later testimony to the history of the settlement is the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, which dates from 1875.

Routes

An 11 km-long cycle path leads from Kněžmost to Srbsko and forms a cycling excursion in the Český ráj. The longer version of the Příhrazy–Branžež circular route reaches Srbsko after 11.5 km and is 16 km long in total.

The Zlatá stezka Českého ráje also runs along a 22 km-long route from Mnichovo Hradiště via Zásadka, Valečov Castle, Drábské světničky, Krásná vyhlídka, Příhrazy and Srbsko to Kost Castle and Libošovice.

Local life

The Srbsko stop is located in a holiday settlement near the well-known Sokolky rocks. Srbsko has a whole range of leisure facilities. In summer, the settlement becomes livelier due to the many tourists and cyclists.
