Culture and History

In the centre of Horní Slivno, St Martin's Church stands on the village green. The first written mention of the settlement of Horní Slivno dates from 1223. The history of the locality also includes Hankovská tvrz and the Košátky estate: Hankovská tvrz was acquired by the Bezdružičtí z Kolovrat in 1485 and incorporated into the Košátky estate in 1486.

A second tvrz stood in the northern courtyard on the northern side of the village; its lower foundation probably forms part of the western courtyard building.
