Culture and history

The parish church of Sant Bartomeu combines Renaissance architecture with Baroque elements. It was built in the 17th and 18th centuries over an older 14th-century church, whose original bell tower has been preserved.

The Vila Closa is considered Atzeneta’s first historic settlement; it is bounded by the Verdunc and de la Font ravines and by the Rambla de Atzeneta. Another historic site is Mas de Propet, a restored former oil mill where the historic beam press has been preserved.
