Holiday apartment in El Espinardo: Terra Natura, trial biking and culture
In El Espinardo, Terra Natura Murcia is a zoological park focused on education, nature conservation and research. The park is divided into the two distinct habitats of Africa and the Iberian Peninsula; visitors can discover more than 50 species there. In summer, Terra Natura also offers families Aqua Natura Murcia, a water park. Educational activities and outdoor activities are also aimed at families, and there is also the opportunity to go on a night safari.
Culture and history
The Palacio de los Marqueses de Espinardo is a landmark of Espinardo's architectural heritage. The palace is currently not open to the public. Another historical highlight is Casa Torre Falcón, a characteristic Baroque house tower of the Murcian Huerta dating from the first third of the 18th century. Historically, it combined an aristocratic summer residence with the logistical centre of an estate shaped by silkworm breeding and agriculture.
The cultural calendar includes Espinardo's annual patron saint festivities in honour of Saint Peter, which usually take place at the end of June. Their programme includes cultural, sporting and religious activities, including processions, concerts and sports competitions.
Activities and green spaces
Jardín de Tirocosa is home to the first trial bike course in the municipality of Murcia. The course covers 1,800 square metres and has five adapted sections. It can host regional championships, training sessions and beginner courses. Jardín de Tirocosa also includes a large viewpoint on a hilltop, as well as additional dedicated trial bike features.
Jardín de Tirocosa is also a completely renovated green space of more than 25,000 square metres, connecting Espinardo and Los Rectores. Thus, alongside the special features for cycling, the size and connectivity of the area are also highlighted as distinctive features of the location.
Enjoyment and tradition
Fábrica Estrella de Levante opens its doors to visitors so that they can learn about the entire production process, from malting the barley to final bottling, and then take part in a beer tasting. The history of Estrella de Levante began in 1963 with the opening of its factory in Espinardo; it later became a symbol of the region.
