Discover Ceutí: Art, History and Holiday Apartments

Ceutí combines historic sites, art and clearly described routes to create a diverse townscape. A notable starting point is the Casa Museo Antonio Campillo, located in one of the few surviving grand 19th-century buildings in Ceutí’s traffic-calmed historic quarter.

Culture and History

At the Casa Museo Antonio Campillo, the artist’s professional career is presented through clay sculptures, bronzes, plaster works, busts, miniatures, drawings and sketches. The focus on the artistic work is presented alongside the history of the building itself.

The Museo 7 Chimeneas documents the history of Ceutí through the vegetable canning industry and everyday objects in a house dating from the late 19th century. This building once served both as a canning factory and a residence. The Ruinas Árabes reveal a different historical layer: they represent nine centuries of Ceutí’s history, from the Islamic period in the 11th and 12th centuries to the present day, and form one of the entrances to the Arab alquería of former Ceptí. The Ruinas Árabes can be seen from outside through a glazed enclosure and can also be visited inside, especially at Christmas, when the municipal nativity scene is installed there.

La Conservera adds a space for contemporary art. Its galleries cover a combined area of 4,800 m². Ceutí therefore brings together different forms of cultural experience: an artist’s career, the history of the vegetable canning industry, Arab heritage and contemporary exhibitions.

Walking Tours and Routes

The Museo al Aire Libre consists of three walking tours. It can be visited around the clock; works located in public buildings are subject to the opening hours of those buildings.

The Route 10.000 pasos offers a specific itinerary. It is 6.3 km long and starts at Ceutí’s Muralla Árabe. Ceutí’s Carril Bici is 10 km long and received the Sendero Azul award in 2023. This places a 6.3 km route alongside an award-winning 10 km cycling route.

Places and Traditions

In Los Torraos stands the Noria del Boticario, also known as Noria de Los Torraos. Its original construction dates from 1789. The noria has a diameter of 11 metres, 14 spokes and 56 zinc buckets.

An annual event is the Bajá de San Roque on 7 August. It takes place as a night pilgrimage from the Ermita de San Roque to the Iglesia Santa María Magdalena.
