Getting Around
As a natural route in the province of Segovia, the Cañada Real Soriana Occidental passes through a variety of landscapes. It begins in Arcones and ends in Villacastín. The route is 103 kilometres long; the estimated time is five days on foot or three days by mountain bike. Villacastín is very well connected via the A-6, N-VI and N-110 roads. The details of the start, destination, length and duration help compare the route and the desired pace of activity. Comparing the two time frames presents the route as either a hiking or mountain-biking option; the choice depends on the preferred activity and the available time window.
When comparing holiday apartments in Villacastín, you can check the travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions side by side on the respective offer pages. Nature
The Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Carrascal, dating from 1595, stands on a slope crowned by a large rocky massif. Las Balsas is the surviving wool-washing facility of Perella and is considered one of the largest wool-washing facilities in Europe. For viewing the landscape, the route and the individual landforms are presented side by side as two different scales. In the area of the N-110 southwest of Villacastín, where the road crosses the Cardeña River at Puente Nuevo, characteristic granite landscapes of the foothills can be seen, featuring granite blocks, balancing rocks, tower-like formations, rock slabs and granite cliffs.
