The 77 km Camino de San Frutos pilgrimage route leads from Segovia to the San Frutos hermitage and is of considerable scenic and cultural interest. The first section of the Camino de San Frutos passes through Tizneros. One stage of the route crosses meadows and pastureland and offers views of the Sierra de Guadarrama. On the second stage, the route crosses the Arroyo Polendos before reaching Basardilla. In Tizneros, the second stage includes the Church of San Juan Degollado as a point of interest.

For your planning, the full route and the individual stages are presented side by side as different route lengths. Scenic sections and named stops can be considered as separate focal points if you do not want to structure all your days in the same way.

When planning your days, you can weigh routes, nature, culture and the festival calendar independently of one another. The topics can be considered side by side without setting a single focus; their order can be based on your own interests.

Nature

The Arroyo de San Medel flows through Tizneros. The natural area “Laguna de La Charcona” is located in Tizneros. If you would like to organize nature-related topics and route stops separately, you can incorporate both perspectives into your personal day planning.

Culture

The parish church of San Juan Bautista in Tizneros has a covered bell gable built of solid bricks. The Potro de Tizneros is located on Calle la Fuentona. Potros de Herrar are historic devices used for shoeing livestock.

For your day planning, you can weigh the mentioned buildings, devices and sculptures separately. The sculpture “La Costurera” honors the sewing battalion that was active during the pandemic. During a pilgrimage along the Camino de San Frutos, the walkers stopped in Tizneros in front of the sculpture “La Costurera”.
