Construction of the Catedral Vieja de Plasencia began in the 13th century, and it was designed in a style transitioning from Romanesque to Gothic. The main altar of the Catedral de Plasencia includes woodcarvings by Gregorio Fernández. The Catedral Vieja de Plasencia also houses the Museo Catedralicio.

The Museo etnográfico y textil has several rooms dedicated to the production of linen and wool. It displays traditional costumes from the province of Cáceres, as well as household furnishings, ceramics, and agricultural and livestock-related items.
