Miajadas is home to the Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol, which is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural in the Monument category. Its main construction phases date from the 15th to the 18th century. The architect Pedro de Ybarra played a key role in its construction between 1560 and 1570.

Culture and Architectural History

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Belén originated in the 18th century and was later completely remodelled. It is the only surviving one of four former hermitages within the town centre of Miajadas.

The Palacio del Obispo Solís was built for Alonso Solís so that, following his appointment as Bishop of Badajoz, he could stay there during his summer visits. Today, the Palacio houses various municipal institutions connected with culture, as well as the Museo Masa-Solís.

A notable secular building is the Casa modernista. The two-storey building has two corner sections, an upper semicircular balcony with botanical decoration, and tiles bearing the year 1921.
