Vilabella on the Gaià – Circular Routes and Culture
Vilabella is located on the right bank of the deeply incised Gaià River. The Gaià forms the eastern boundary of the municipality.
Landscape
La Mola is a summit in the area around Vilabella. Platja Las Palmeras, a beach, is also located nearby. The Cova Fonda, on the other hand, lies within the municipality of Salomó. It is more easily accessible from Vilabella; its passage is approximately 286 metres long.
Routes and Paths
The route from Vilabella to the Torre del Moro begins in Vilabella. It passes via Els Set Ponts on the Gaià River and the Molí del Mig, ascending to the Torre del Moro. The Torre del Moro is also known as the Torre de Montferri.
The circular route from Vilabella to Salomó begins near the schools of Vilabella. Via Els Set Ponts on the Gaià River, it passes through wooded areas towards Salomó. The circular route returns to Vilabella along a different path, so the outward and return journeys follow different routes.
A five-kilometre circular path runs along the Gaià River. It begins at the path from Salomó and passes via the Siete Puentes and the Molino del Medio. The rest of the route includes the Gatell caves and the path from Molinet.
The corresponding Gaià circular route can be completed as a guided route if a reservation is made at the town hall. The guided tour is therefore subject to prior reservation at the town hall.
A 17.6-kilometre route leads from Santes Creus to Vilabella. It is suitable for cycling or running. It passes through Aiguamúrcia, Pont del Gaià, Vila-rodona, Bràfim and Vilabella. The route has an elevation difference of 94 metres.
The five-kilometre circular path starts at the path from Salomó. It passes via the Siete Puentes and the Molino del Medio, goes past the Gatell caves and reaches the path from Molinet. It can be completed as a guided route if a reservation is made at the town hall.
